Choosing Your Wool

Shopping for wool is so much fun but when you have a certain project in mind it’s best to know you are buying the right wool before you start. I know… what a good idea, ya think?

I once lived in northern Ontario and spent a lot of time during the winter trying to figure out knitting. My children were little and would go to bed early so I was left to entertain myself a lot. I didn’t take my Mom up on her many offers to teach me knitting “properly” as she would say, so there was a lot of late night ripping and tearing.

However, I found this magical weight numbering system on the wool and realized how helpful this was!!! My ripping decreased and knitting increased, significantly, and hence the name the “knitting savage”.

I realize this chart has been around for sometime now but I still use it and I would like to share it with you.

Happy knitting

Set Yourself Free!!!

One thing I forgot to mention before…. all of the patterns I share are free downloads.

Or they are patterns I’ve had forever and I’ve copied them to my computer so they can follow me around on my iPad. Which is really convenient for travelling because my iPad weighs a lot less than all my knitting books.

So please share them with your fellow stitchers

Return of the Needles!!!

After a long wet and dark winter I’m looking forward to more knitting and new camping adventures with family and friends!

I always have more then one project on the go so now It will be even worse… or better, however you like to look at things. Picking smaller portable projects is the start to my Spring Fever while i do love to garden, knitting is my first love.  All the beautiful new colors and patterns (or recipes) as my girlfriends like to call them will be popping up and teasing me . I’ll share the different projects I start. So Happy Spring everyone. TTFN
